This Sunday’s Celebrant

Welcome and many thanks to Fr John Saward who very kindly offered to celebrate Mass this Sunday whilst on a brief holiday in Shropshire. Fr John taught me whilst on the staff of Ushaw College, Co Durham, and subsequently in relation to studies of St Thomas More. Fr John has taught in several seminaries and colleges at home and abroad and still continues to teach and write whist taking care of a catholic parish in Oxford. Fr John is a great devotee of St Thomas Aquinas. Fr Anthony.

Christian Aid Week 14-20 May 2017

British churches founded Christian Aid in 1945 to support refugees who had lost their homes and possessions in the Second World War. 12 years later, Christian Aid Week was launched to help fund this ongoing work. We know that the conflict that drives refugee crises is not what God wants for the world. From the Israelites fleeing Egypt to Jesus fleeing Herod, the Bible is full of stories of people seeking sanctuary. If you wish to make a donation, please use the envelopes provided and place in the offertory collection bags or leave in the basket in the Church porch. Thank you.

Parish Hall Feedback

Many thanks for the feedback received from Parishioners in response to the request for your views on the subject – see attached. It is good to share the opinions expressed so they can be acknowledged and discussed. Obviously we are at an early stage and even our Lord gives some practical advice “And indeed, which of you here, intending to build a tower, would not first sit down and work out the cost to see if he had enough to complete it?….” (Luke 14: 28-29). Thank you to all those involved with the latest presentations, we welcome feedback from Parishioners. Fr Anthony
