Seniors Cream Tea

This year’s Senior’s Cream Tea will take place this Thursday 3rd August from 4-6pm. All welcome to attend (please write your name on the list in the porch) and any donations of raffle prizes would be gratefully received. It would be appreciated if any men that are available to help set up tables, could please come along the day before – Wed at 1.30pm. Thank you.

 

Children’s Liturgy

Please note that Children’s Liturgy will not be held during the School Summer Holidays.

 

Prayer for Persecuted Christians

The next Churches Together prayer session for persecuted Christians will be held on Thursday 10th August starting at 7:30pm. The venue is Wollerton URC School Room, Wood Lane, Wollerton. CAP Job Club Course

Another CAP Job Club Course has started on a Monday from 10.30am -12.30pm at Christchurch (Buntingsdale Road -TF9 1LT) The topics covered on the 8 week course are: Finding your motivation, Overcoming the obstacles, Discovering your strengths, Getting to know employers, Writing CV’s, covering letters and applications, Succeeding in interviews and ‘getting ready for work’. The course is set in a relaxed atmosphere, it is free and refreshments are provided. Tea and Coffee

Tea and coffee will be served after Mass next Sunday.

 

Foundation Governors

There is currently an acute shortage of Foundation Governors at schools within the Telford and Wrekin Local Authority, namely at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Primary School, Newport; St Luke’s Catholic Primary School, Trench, and The Holy Trinity Academy in Wellington.  If anybody is interested or any current Foundation Governors are willing to serve at another school as well as their current school, please speak to Fr Anthony or for further information, please look at www.dioceseofshrewsbury.org/education/governors/foundation-governors.

 

Church Opening

The Church will be open during the summer through to the end of August on week days from 3-7pm for prayer.

 

Foodbank – Feeding Children during Summer Holidays

The Foodbank is helping to feed children during the summer school holidays. Some families will struggle to feed their children due to normally receiving free school meals during term time. They are therefore appealing for the following items over the next few weeks please: Tinned macaroni cheese, Tinned fish, Tinned ravioli, Tinned spaghetti in tomato sauce, Tinned fruit, Tinned rice pudding and Biscuits. Please leave donations in the basket in the porch – thank you.
