The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Mass will be held this Tuesday 15th August at 10am and is a Holy Day of obligation. Mass is also being celebrated at Ss Peter & Paul, Newport at 7pm.

CAP Job Club Course

A Christians Against Poverty Job Club Course is being held on a Monday from 10.30am -12.30pm at Christchurch (Buntingsdale Road -TF9 1LT).

The topics covered during this course are: Finding your motivation, Overcoming the obstacles, Discovering your strengths, Getting to know employers, Writing CV’s, covering letters and applications, Succeeding in interviews and ‘getting ready for work’. The course is set in a relaxed atmosphere, it is free and refreshments are provided.

Foundation Governors

There is currently an acute shortage of Foundation Governors at schools within the Telford and Wrekin Local Authority, namely at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Primary School, Newport; St Luke’s Catholic Primary School, Trench, and The Holy Trinity Academy in Wellington.  If anybody is interested or any current Foundation Governors are willing to serve at another school as well as their current school, please speak to Fr Anthony or for further information, please look at: www.dioceseofshrewsbury.org/education/governors/foundation-governors.


Children’s Liturgy

Please note that Children’s Liturgy will not be held during the School Summer Holidays.


Church Opening

The Church will be open for prayer during the summer through to the end of August on week days until 7pm.


Foodbank – Feeding Children during Summer Holidays

The Foodbank is helping to feed children during the summer school holidays. Some families struggle to feed their children due to normally receiving free school meals during term time. The Foodbank is therefore appealing for the following items over the next 2 weeks please:

Sponge puddings, Tinned macaroni cheese, Tinned fish, Tinned ravioli, Tinned spaghetti in tomato sauce, Tinned fruit, Tinned rice pudding and Biscuits.

Please leave donations in the basket in the porch – thank you.
