Care Home Friends

Market Drayton Churches Together are exploring the possibility of setting up a Care Home Friends project in the area. CHF is a Christian project which has developed out of the very successful ‘Embracing Age’ in Richmond Surrey, which has links with every care home in the borough.

The vision behind CHF is to care for individuals who feel lonely and vulnerable even in such a busy place. All that is needed to establish a CHF project is a few volunteers who are motivated to befriend lonely, elderly people living in a care home.

Befriending involves a wide range of activities such as chatting, reading aloud, doing crosswords, playing board games or taking someone out for a walk. Weekly visits of this nature can greatly benefit a lonely person.

If you are interested in getting involved, you can find out more on the Churches Together website www.churchestogether-marketdrayton.org.uk/chf or contact Randall Hardy 01952-540970 / randall@amen.org.uk by Monday 7th May.
