Apostleship of the Sea – Second collection next weekend

Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church. It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports. Adoremus National Eucharistic Pilgrimage & Congress

A gathering of clergy, religious and laity which promotes an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. The event will be held in Liverpool:

Friday 7th September: Symposium day – workshops and speakers aimed at our catechists, RE Coordinators, Teachers, Musicians and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

Saturday 8th September: Congress day – Cardinal Vincent Nichols and the internationally renowned speaker, Bishop Robert Barron will be opening up our faith in the Eucharist.

Sunday 9th September: Pilgrimage day – opportunities for Mass in the Metropolitan Cathedral followed by a Eucharistic Procession (1km) in the vicinity of the Cathedral.

All days: there will be many complementary events taking place in and around Liverpool.

Tea, Coffee & Piety Stall

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served in the Church hall after Mass. The Piety stall will also be open, please join us, all welcome!

 

Market Drayton Foodbank – FOOD URGENTLY REQUIRED

The following items are required urgently: Long life fruit juice, UHT Milk, Pasta sauce, tinned potatoes, tinned tomatoes, rice, packets of rice/noodles, washing powder,  toothbrushes/paste, shower gel, shampoo, men’s toiletries, sponge puddings, jam, tinned fruit, biscuits.
