Piety Stall Catalogues

There are catalogues available for Parishioners to choose items they wish to purchase. These are available from Helen McSherry on Sundays and when the piety stall is open on the 1st Sunday of the month when tea and coffee is served in the Church Hall.

 

Market Drayton Foodbank – CHILD HOLIDAY MEAL APPEAL

Thank you very much for all your very kind donations for the Foodbank – they are very much appreciated and are helping to re-stock the shelves.

The foodbank is launching its ‘Child Holiday Meal’ Appeal and is asking for donations to help feed children who will go hungry during the Summer holiday due to not receiving their free school lunch at school. Items such as the following are required please: tinned chopped tomatoes, packets of microwaveable rice, tinned tuna, tinned minced beef, tinned macaroni cheese & noodles. The next Supermarket Collection is being held this Friday 27th July 9am until 5pm. Volunteers are still required so if you can help out either at Morrisons or sorting food at the Foodbank, please contact Helen on 01630 654007 or by e-mail at volunteer@marketdratyon.foodbank.org.uk.

 

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Life Skills

There will be a CAP Life Skills course on offer at the Zone Community Centre on Thursday 6th September from 12.30-2pm. The free course aims to help people with basic budgeting, cooking and confidence building over a period of 8 weeks. CAP also offer debt help, addiction support and job seeking help through the other CAP services. For further information please phone 0800 3280006.

The Zone Community Centre Open Day

Do come along and support the Zone Community Centre open day on Saturday 28th July 1.30pm onwards at the Fairfields Park which can be found at the end of Linden Way on the Fairfields Estate, Market Drayton.

 

Adoremus National Eucharistic Pilgrimage & Congress

A gathering of clergy, religious and laity which promotes an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. The event will be held in Liverpool:

Friday 7th September: Symposium day – workshops and speakers aimed at our catechists, RE Coordinators, Teachers, Musicians and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

Saturday 8th September: Congress day – Cardinal Vincent Nichols and the internationally renowned speaker, Bishop Robert Barron will be opening up our faith in the Eucharist.

Sunday 9th September: Pilgrimage day – opportunities for Mass in the Metropolitan Cathedral followed by a Eucharistic Procession (1km) in the vicinity of the Cathedral.

All days: there will be many complementary events taking place in and around Liverpool.
