Tea, Coffee & Piety Stall

Tea and Coffee is served after Mass today in the Church Hall. The piety stall will also be open with catalogues available for Parishioners to choose items they wish to order.

 

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Holyday of Obligation of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary takes place on Wednesday 15th August. Mass will be celebrated at 10am.

 

News on the Permanent Diaconate

Congratulations to Wilf McSherry for successfully completing his first year at St Mary’s College, Oscott.  Bishop Mark has agreed that Wilf should receive the Rite of Admission as a Candidate and this will take place later this year.  Well done Wilf for all your hard work and to Helen for that much needed and valuable support.

 

Seniors Afternoon Cream Tea

The Parish will be holding the annual Senior’s Afternoon Cream Tea on Thursday 9th August from 4-6pm. If you would like to attend, please put your names on the list in the church porch. Prayer for Persecuted Christians

The next Churches Together prayer session for persecuted Christians will be held on Thursday 9th August starting at 7:30pm. The venue is Wollerton URC School Room, Wood Lane, Wollerton. Foodbank Supermarket Collection – THANK YOU

Thank you to all the adults and children in the Parish who helped at the Collection last week. We had a very successful day and collected 871.61 kg which is a record amount; the most we have ever collected for a supermarket collection at Morrisons since we opened! Our top 3 donated items of the day were toilet rolls, pasta and cereals!

We are still collecting food for our ‘Child Holiday Meal’ Appeal where specific foods are being requested please: Tinned hotdogs, Packets of instant mash, Tinned rice pudding, Packets of noodles, Tinned fruit and Biscuits.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Life Skills

There will be a CAP Life Skills course on offer at the Zone Community Centre on Thursday 6th September from 12.30-2pm. The free course aims to help people with basic budgeting, cooking and confidence building over a period of 8 weeks.
