CAFOD Family Fast Day: Friday

CAFOD’s Family Fast Day this Lent is an opportunity to support our brothers and sisters who don’t have enough to eat. On Friday 23rd February can you give up a meal or eat a simple meal, in solidarity?  With malnutrition still killing almost three million children a year, your fasting, prayers and donations will ensure more of God’s children have enough good food to eat.  And this Lent, your donation will make double the difference. For every £1 you donate to CAFOD, the UK Government will also donate £1 up to a total of £5 million, meaning twice the number of lives can be transformed. Twice the number of children can have the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong. Please collect your Fast Day envelope from Church today and give generously. Envelopes can be brought back to Church next weekend. Thank you.

Mary Josephine (Josie) Rochelle

Please pray for the happy repose of the soul of Josie Rochelle and for her family and friends. Josie’s Requiem Mass will take place this Friday 23rd February at 10am followed by interment at Market Drayton Cemetery.

First Holy Communion

Preparation starts on Sunday 4th March at 10.30. Please bring children to the Church House (Presbytery).

There will be Confirmation classes this year in the parish, if there is anybody of secondary school age who would like to attend, please let Fr Anthony know.

Our Mission Together

This has now started in our parish. Part of the mission campaign does involve the parish priest contacting parishioners and inviting them if they feel able, to hear about the vison of ‘Our Mission Together’ and to invite them to consider whether they might feel able to support it.

Lenten Alms

A box in the wall in the Church has been allocated for Lenten Alms.

Walk with me Lents Booklets

These booklets are available in the Church Porch and have a reflection for each of the days of Lent – priced £1 each.

Jesuit Refugee Service – Used Stamps

Do you throw away envelopes with used stamps on them?  The stamps can be recycled to raise funds for the Jesuit Refugee Service.  All stamps welcome – British and foreign. Please cut from the envelope leaving at least 1cm border all round, and place in the box in the porch. Thank you.
