Patronal Feast of St Thomas Aquinas

Our patronal feast of St Thomas Aquinas will be celebrated next Sunday at the normal mass time of 11am.

 

Peace Sunday – Pax Christi

Today is a day of special prayer for world peace. The work of Pax Christi is based on the gospel and inspired by faith.
Their vision is of a world where people can live in peace, without fear of violence in all is forms. Rooted in Catholic Christianity, they work with all who share their values to abolish war and create communities of peach and justice. If you would like to support the work of Pax Christi, please leave a donation in the basket in the Church Porch. There are also gift aid envelopes available on the pews.

 

Churches Together AGM

This year’s AGM for Churches Together will be held this evening Sunday 20th January at St Mary’s Church. There will be a short service of unity 6-6.30pm followed by the Annual General Meeting. All welcome to attend.

 

World Day of Prayer

World Day of Prayer will be held on 1st March this year and in Market Drayton the ecumenical service will be held at the Methodist Church. A representative is needed from our Church to attend a short meeting prior to the event whose theme is ‘Come – Everything is Ready’ this year. Please contact Helen McSherry if you are interested or would like further information.

 

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Fresh Start

Anyone who wishes to discover freedom from life controlling habits such as smoking, gambling, drinking or internet addictions are welcome to join the next meeting which will take place this Tuesday 22nd January 5-6.30pm at Market Drayton Methodist Church. Crib Offerings

Thank you for all your Crib Offerings. A total of £118.28 was donated by the Parish and will go to the Diocesan Children’s Society – Caritas.

 

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Job Club

Anyone who is seeking work and would like the support that the CAP Job Club can offer, please contact Carol Preston on 07399 852163. Job Club meets at Christchurch on Buntingsdale Road on Monday mornings from 10.30am-12.30pm.

 

Used Stamps – Thank you!

Thank you for the generous response to the used stamps appeal.  A large parcel has just been sent off to the Jesuit Refugee Service. The box for stamps will remain in the church porch and can be added to at all times of the year.  Please cut the stamp from the envelope leaving a large margin around the stamp.

 

Market Drayton Foodbank

Thank you for your kind and generous donations, items may be left in the basket in the Church porch or at the Foodbank during one of the sessions – Tuesdays 10-11.30am and Fridays 12.30-2pm.
