Day for Life – second collection next weekend

Day for Life is the day in the Church’s year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. 2019 Day for Life focuses on Domestic Abuse.

 

World Communications Day

Missio Red Boxes

Following Fr Demot Byrne’s visit to celebrate Mass with us a couple of weekends ago, the Parish has now signed up to 22 additional boxes and 3 annual direct debits which is fantastic news – thank you. Any queries, please contact David Milburn.

 

Prayer for Persecuted Christians 

The next Churches Together prayer session for persecuted Christians will be held on 19 June between 2:00 and 3:30pm. The session will be held in the Lounge at Market Drayton Methodist Church. 10km Run Sponsorship

Thank you very much to everybody who sponsored Wilf McSherry for his run in the Market Drayton 10km road race back in May. A total of £386 was raised and will be divided equally between the Alzheimer’s Society and the building of the new Church Hall.

 

Summer Fayre – today

The Nuns at Ellesmere are holding their annual Summer Fayre today 9th June from 12noon. All invited to join and support them.

 

Christian Aid Week 12-18th May: ‘All Mums Should Live’

Thank you for all your donations collected during Christian Aid week. The Parish raised a total of £54.00.

 

Christian Aid Concert

A concert will be held at Market Drayton Methodist Church on Saturday 13th July at 7pm with MDAODS Little Voices Choir and guest performances from Longlands School Choir, MDMC Ukelele Group and MDMC Gospel Choir. Free admission. See poster in Church Porch.

 

Foodbank – low stock items

Thank you for your kind and generous donations over the past few weeks. Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Volunteer Vacancies

CAP is still seeking a ‘Fresh Start’ Coach suitable for those with previous experience in the area of addictions/dependencies and/or life controlling habits, a Life Skills Manager to support people with low incomes, budgeting & key life skills support and a Community Links Co-Ordinator.
