Sea Sunday – second collection next Sunday

Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Stella Maris, Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church. It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports. As it is dependent on voluntary donations, please give generously. Prayer for Persecuted Christians

The next Churches Together prayer session for persecuted Christians will be held on Wednesday 17th July between 2:00 and 3:30pm. Meet in the Lounge at Market Drayton Methodist Church. CAP Volunteer Vacancies

The following vacancies are available: Job Club Manager & Coach – please pick up a leaflet from the Church Porch for full details. A Community Links Coordinator (CLC) is also needed. This role is about the promotion of all 5 CAP services: Debt Centre, Fresh Start, Life Skills, Job Club and the ‘CAP Money’ course. The Community Links Co-ordinator is a flexible position with hours ranging from 2-4 per week, dependant on weekly workload. it is a varied role that requires a confident, outgoing person to fill it. Christian Aid Concert

A concert will be held at Market Drayton Methodist Church on Saturday 13th July at 7pm with MDAODS Little Voices Choir and guest performances from Longlands School Choir, MDMC Ukelele Group and MDMC Gospel Choir. Free admission.

 

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Committee Members Needed

Volunteers are needed to represent our Church at CAP Committee Meetings of which there are 5 per year and are held bi-monthly usually at 11am on a Tuesday at the Parish Rooms (St Mary’s Church). Foodbank – Urgent Appeal

The Foodbank still has very low stock levels on almost all items, especially long-life cartons of juice, UHT milk, jam, custard, small jars of coffee and toilet rolls. If you are able to donate a food item, please either leave in the container in the Church Porch or drop off at the Foodbank – Tuesdays 10-11.30am and Fridays 12.30-2pm.
