Retired Priests’ Fund – Special Collection

Thank you very much for all your kind and generous donations to the Retired Priest’s Fund. £190.80 was collected.

 

Volunteers needed please  Staff at Stoke Heath Prison near Market Drayton are asking for volunteers to visit prisoners. There are quite a number within the prison who do not have visitors so any time you can spare would be much appreciated. Training and clearances will be arranged. Please let Fr Anthony or Wilf McSherry know if you are interested.

 

CAP and Foodbank Quiz n Cheese Night

Tickets are now available for the Quiz n Cheese night to raise funds for CAP and Market Drayton Foodbank. The event will take place at the Parish Rooms on Saturday 29th February 6.30 for 7pm start. Tickets are priced at £5 per person. Please see Helen McSherry for tickets and further information.

 

Lifting the Lid – God’s Heart for Mental Health

Monday 10th February, 7.30-9pm at the Rectory, Moreton Say, TF93RS.  The next in the series of discussion evenings on how we care for and support people living with poor mental health – all are welcome whether or not you’ve been to any of the previous sessions. New Songs Evening

CAP Money Course

CAP Money Course dates are Tuesdays 17th, 24th and 31st March at 7pm-9pm at Market Drayton Methodist Church – church hall. World Day of Prayer  This will take place on Friday 6th March at 7pm at Christ Church. Two volunteers are needed to read, please contact Christine Pritchard if you are interested.

 

Prayer for Persecuted Christians

The next Churches Together prayer session for persecuted Christians will be held on 19 February between 2:00 and 3:30pm. We meet in the Lounge at Market Drayton Methodist Church. Christian Aid Coordinator

Following many years of co-ordinating the Christian Aid week collection, Joan Scrivener is stepping down so a new co-ordinator is required. The role includes: Ordering the resources (envelopes, posters, etc), Distributing resources and payment details to churches, Completing financial paperwork and audit forms together with CA treasurer, Encouraging churches to hold their own CA fund-raising events, Working with the MD Churches Together Committee to coordinate joint fundraising events, Acting as liaison between local churches and regional CA office.
