Prisoner’s Sunday
This Sunday is Prisoners’ Sunday, a chance for us as a parish to pray for all prisoners, their families and all those in the justice sector. Pact is the national Catholic charity that supports people affected by imprisonment. Pact helps prisoners and their families to make a fresh start and to minimise the harm caused by imprisonment to offenders, families and communities. Pact works in fifty prisons across England and Wales, runs seven visitor centres and a number of supervised play services for families of prisoners, as well as raising public awareness of the needs of prisoners and their families. If you wish to make a donation, there will be envelopes available in Church this weekend.
CAFOD Collection
If you still wish to donate to CAFOD, please donate online at cafod.org.uk/give or by using one of the envelopes at church. You can also give easily via text. Text CAFOD to 70085 to donate £10 (texts cost £10 plus one standard rate message) and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £10 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text CAFODNOINFO to 70085.

Next week – World Mission Sunday
Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday, when the Holy Father invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection for Missio, his charity for world mission. Please support Missio in helping missionaries to work alongside communities throughout the world that are poor or in need, regardless of their background or belief. Join in on this special day, that unites Catholics all over the world in prayer and celebration of our Church’s mission to share God’s love with all people – ‘Here I am, send me!’. A second collection will take place next Sunday following Mass.
Churches Together Uniform Hub
A message from Churches Together…..During the summer we have distributed uniforms to those in financial difficulties. 43 families/ nearly 70 children have received uniforms. Although we still have a large stock there are inevitably items that we are short of and we would like to be able to purchase these items if we see them advertised for sale second hand. Would you consider giving a small donation so that this can be achieved. If so, it can be given to Gail Ackerley, 20 Forest Rd, or paid directly into the Churches Together in Market Drayton bank account sort code 403221 account number 62219875. Please put ‘Uniform’ as a reference.
Very many thanks. Enquiries to suefrankfort@gmail.com
